After a successful payment, Taliup POS asks how the customer should get a receipt. The prompt title is Choose customer receipt. The question is How should the customer get this receipt?
The merchant copy still prints on its own unless Skip Merchant Receipt Copy is on. Merchant copy is not one of the customer choices.

Choices

When Email is available

If you enter an email and no client is on the order, Taliup may create a client from that address and attach it to the order.

One payment

When you collect the full balance in one payment, you see Choose customer receipt once.
  1. Take payment. See Take payment.
  2. Choose No Receipt, Paper, or Email (when shown).
  3. The sale is done.
Turn on Auto-Print Customer Receipt in General settings to print the customer copy and skip this prompt.

Split payments

A split sale uses two kinds of customer receipt. This path is for an Open Sale, saved order, or table that you amount-split with no guest payments.
1

Each payment

After every split tender you see Choose customer receipt. The amount on the prompt is that payment only (for example $22.61 of a $67.82 sale).Choices are Paper and No Receipt. Email is hidden on these steps.Paper prints that tender only.
2

After the last payment

After you choose Paper or No Receipt on the last tender, Taliup POS shows Choose full order customer receipt. The amount is the full sale. Choices are Paper, Email (when available), and No Receipt.Paper prints the whole order: all items and all payments. Email sends that same full-order receipt.
Choose full order customer receipt does not appear after a guest payment, or after you pay the rest of a table that already has a paid guest.

Guest payments

When you pay one guest on a table:

Rest of the table

After one or more guests have paid, paying the remaining table shows Choose customer receipt with Email. The receipt lists unpaid items only. Tip is on the remaining amount, not the original table total. There is no Guest Fully Paid prompt and no Choose full order customer receipt.
Skip Fully Paid Receipt Prompts skips Guest Fully Paid. It does not skip Choose customer receipt or Choose full order customer receipt.

What the email includes

The emailed receipt shows the business name, line items, taxes, fees, discounts, and the total. It also shows these lines when they apply:
  • Surcharge
  • Card Price Adjustment (dual pricing)
  • Tip
On an amount-split sale with no guest payments, the full-order email lists the whole order first, then each payment (method and amount). A Guest Fully Paid email lists that guest’s items and every payment that guest made. The total is the sum of those payments.

Customer-facing display

On a terminal with a customer-facing display, the customer chooses on their screen. Staff see Customer is choosing a receipt… with: On some terminals the customer-facing display uses the device’s built-in receipt options. The choices stay the same: No Receipt, Paper, and Email when available.

Kitchen tickets

If kitchen printing is set up, you may still see Send To Kitchen Printer after payment. When Send order to external printer after payment is on in General settings, Taliup POS sends kitchen tickets automatically and does not ask.

Québec WEB-SRM

On a device enrolled with WEB-SRM, Taliup POS asks Does the customer want a paper receipt? instead of No Receipt / Paper / Email. That fiscal prompt is unchanged. Auto-Print Customer Receipt and Skip Fully Paid Receipt Prompts are hidden on those devices. To print again later, open Transaction Details and choose Print Customer Copy or Print Merchant Copy. That path prints paper only.
